Une jeune fille britannique et son père trouvent un gros fossile sur une plage du Somerset, en Angleterre. Il s’agit d’une mâchoire.

Les scientifiques disent qu’elle provient d’une grosse créature marine. Elle s’appelle Ichthyotitnan severensis. Elle vit il y a 202 millions d’années. Elle mesure entre 22 et 26 mètres de long. Elle est aussi grande que la baleine bleue d’aujourd’hui.

Les scientifiques trouvent un autre fossile en 2016. Ces fossiles nous aident à comprendre la vie en mer il y a des millions d’années. Nous savons que de nombreux animaux différents vivent dans la mer à cette époque. Mais il y a environ 201 millions d’années, une catastrophe les tue tous.
