La présidente indienne Droupadi Murmu s’est autoproclamée “présidente de Bharat” lors d’un dîner au sommet du G20.

Cela a surpris les gens et les a amenés à se demander si le gouvernement voulait changer le nom de l’Inde. L’Inde a deux noms : Inde et Bharat. Le gouvernement aime l’hindi et change certains anciens noms pour de nouveaux. India et Bharat sont des noms très anciens. Certaines personnes pensent que ce sont les Britanniques qui ont donné leur nom à l’Inde, mais les historiens affirment que ces noms sont encore plus anciens.

Pour changer le nom de l’Inde en Bharat seulement, il faut modifier la constitution. Le parlement pourrait en discuter lors de la prochaine grande réunion.
