Unilever retarde la scission de sa division Magnum Ice Cream car le shutdown du gouvernement américain a interrompu les examens officiels des nouvelles cotations en bourse.

La Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) américaine ne peut pas traiter la déclaration d’enregistrement nécessaire, et l’entreprise doit donc attendre avant d’introduire la Magnum Ice Cream Company à Amsterdam, New York et Londres. Ce retard montre à quel point le shutdown, qui en est à sa troisième semaine, perturbe le commerce mondial et pourrait coûter à l’économie américaine jusqu’à 15 milliards de dollars par semaine. D’autres entreprises, telles que DeepGreenX, ont également dû annuler ou reporter des cotations.

Unilever conservera une participation de 19,9 % dans son entreprise de crèmes glacées, qui comprend également Ben &amp ; Jerry’s et Cornetto. Les investisseurs affirment que le retard n’est pas un problème majeur car la croissance à long terme de l’entreprise et sa position sur le marché restent solides malgré ce contretemps temporaire.
