Astéroïde avec anneaux – niveau 2

Un astéroïde géant a surpris les scientifiques qui ont découvert qu’il possédait des anneaux.

L’astéroïde mesure 250 kilomètres de large. C’est le plus petit objet connu à posséder de tels anneaux. On pensait jusqu’à présent que les anneaux n’existaient qu’autour des grosses planètes comme Saturne ou Neptune.

Les scientifiques ont remarqué les anneaux lorsque l’astéroïde s’est déplacé devant l’étoile. Il a projeté une ombre sur l’Amérique du Sud. Nous ne savons pas comment les anneaux se forment. Selon une théorie, les anneaux sont constitués de glace, de petits cailloux et d’autres débris.
