La Croix-Rouge américaine a officiellement déclaré une urgence nationale. Les hôpitaux américains ont désespérément besoin de plus de sang.
Au cours des vingt dernières années, le nombre de personnes qui donnent leur sang a diminué de 40 %. Cela pourrait signifier des retards dans les opérations chirurgicales et même des risques pour des vies. La situation est encore plus grave en hiver, lorsque de nombreuses personnes ont des problèmes respiratoires. La Croix-Rouge motive les gens à donner leur sang en leur offrant la possibilité de gagner des billets pour le Super Bowl.
