La fonte des glaces en Antarctique tue les bébés manchots.

Des images satellites montrent qu’il n’y a plus de glace en décembre. C’est un gros problème pour les manchots. Les manchots éclosent généralement leurs œufs sur la glace qui fond en été. Cela signifie qu’ils n’ont pas d’endroit où se reproduire. Lorsque la glace fond, environ 9 000 bébés manchots meurent. Ils n’ont pas d’endroit où faire des petits. 13 colonies de manchots meurent.

Le changement climatique aggrave ce problème. Près de 30 % des manchots n’avaient plus de maison l’année dernière. L’année dernière est la pire de l’histoire.
