La guerre fait rage en Bosnie dans les années 1990. Sarajevo, la capitale, n’est pas en sécurité. Les gens ont très peur. Ils ne marchent pas dans la rue. Des tireurs embusqués tirent sur les gens. Des bombes tombent sur les maisons. La vie est dure à Sarajevo.
Un homme des États-Unis vient apporter son aide. Il s’appelle John Jordan. Il donne des bottes et des vêtements aux pompiers. Il travaille à Sarajevo. Il veut aider les gens.
Plus tard, John parle dans un tribunal. Il dit que des gens riches viennent à Sarajevo. Ils donnent de l’argent. Ils tirent sur les gens pour s’amuser. Nous ne savons pas si cette histoire est vraie. Il n’y a aucune preuve. Mais l’histoire montre que la guerre pousse les gens à faire de très mauvaises choses.
