Un grand incendie s’est produit au supermarché New World à Auckland, en Nouvelle-Zélande. Les équipes de pompiers ont travaillé pendant 10 heures pour arrêter l’incendie.
Le supermarché était en train d’effectuer des réparations et d’aménager un nouvel espace pour les commandes en ligne. L’incendie s’est probablement déclaré dans la partie supérieure du magasin, où des ouvriers travaillaient. La raison de l’incendie n’est pas encore claire.
Le bâtiment est très endommagé. Des experts en assurance et des ingénieurs vont maintenant l’examiner. Ils vérifieront si le bâtiment peut être réparé ou s’il faut le démonter. La construction d’un nouveau bâtiment peut prendre des années.
Un nouveau grand supermarché est presque prêt à Christchurch. Beaucoup de gens vont y faire leurs courses. Il est équipé d’un énorme réservoir d’eau pour aider en cas d’incendie.
