Elections en Slovaquie – niveau 2

Robert Fico, un homme politique pro-russe, a remporté les élections slovaques le week-end dernier. Son parti, le SMER-SSD, a obtenu près de 23 % des voix et il tentera de former un nouveau gouvernement.

Fico s’oppose au soutien militaire de l’UE à l’Ukraine, tout comme le premier ministre hongrois Viktor Orban. Si Fico souhaite envoyer de l’aide humanitaire à l’Ukraine, il ne veut pas lui fournir d’armes. La Slovaquie est membre de l’OTAN, mais de nombreuses personnes sympathisent avec l’opinion de la Russie selon laquelle l’Occident veut nuire à Moscou.

Cette élection représente un éloignement du libéralisme politique en Europe centrale, similaire à la politique du Hongrois Viktor Orban. Fico a également l’intention de mettre en place des contrôles aux frontières avec la Hongrie pour stopper l’immigration clandestine.
