En Nouvelle-Zélande, une famille parcourait un sentier de randonnée de 60 kilomètres. Ils se sont arrêtés pour se reposer et camper ; ils ont mis leur GoPro à l’extérieur pour enregistrer des perroquets kea lorsqu’un kea kleptomane a volé la caméra.

L’oiseau s’est échappé pendant que la GoPro enregistrait son vol, puis la caméra a enregistré l’oiseau en train de l’attaquer et d’enlever des morceaux de plastique. Le kea s’est envolé lorsque la famille l’a trouvé. La caméra était encore en train d’enregistrer.

Le kea est célèbre pour sa curiosité et sa façon ludique de semer le trouble. Le perroquet vole des objets aux gens pour apprendre à les connaître, comme des portefeuilles, des bijoux, des déjeuners et des essuie-glaces.
