Le spectacle de Broadway Good Night, and Good Luck a rapporté plus de 3,3 millions de dollars en une semaine. George Clooney, un célèbre acteur, y joue pour la première fois à Broadway.
L’histoire est celle d’un journaliste nommé Edward R. Murrow. Il s’est élevé contre un sénateur américain nommé Joseph McCarthy dans les années 1950. McCarthy disait que beaucoup de gens étaient communistes, mais il n’avait pas de véritables preuves. Murrow a utilisé les informations télévisées pour montrer que ces personnes n’étaient pas coupables. Il a montré au public que McCarthy était injuste et méchant.
La pièce est basée sur un film de 2005. Elle parle aussi du monde d’aujourd’hui, où les médias et la politique sont parfois en conflit. Elle rappelle aux gens combien il est important de dire la vérité et de protéger la liberté.
