L’ex-patron de la Formule 1, Bernie Ecclestone, n’a pas besoin d’aller en prison après avoir reconnu sa fraude fiscale.
Il s’est excusé de ne pas avoir dit la vérité sur ses avoirs à l’étranger d’une valeur de plus de 492 millions de dollars. Il devra payer 803 millions de dollars d’impôts, d’intérêts et de pénalités pour 18 années fiscales allant de 1994 à 2022. L’homme de 92 ans a déclaré avoir menti à l’administration fiscale en 2015 en affirmant qu’il ne possédait pas certains actifs, notamment celui qui a envoyé 500 millions de dollars sur un compte bancaire à Singapour en 2010.
Le juge a condamné Ecclestone à 17 mois de prison avec sursis, ce qui signifie qu’il n’ira en prison que s’il enfreint la loi dans les deux ans.
