La Terre est entourée de nombreux déchets spatiaux, notamment de vieux satellites. C’est un problème mais aussi une opportunité pour certaines entreprises.
La société japonaise Astroscale a connu un bon départ en bourse. Elle bénéficie du soutien du Japon, des États-Unis et du Royaume-Uni. Elle veut fabriquer un outil capable d’attraper les vieux satellites et les déchets et de les pousser vers la Terre, où ils brûleront dans l’atmosphère. L’entreprise affirme qu’il y a environ 10 000 tonnes de déchets spatiaux, ce qui est dangereux pour les satellites et les stations spatiales en activité.
D’autres entreprises spatiales au Japon, comme Moon Explorer iSpace et IQPS, se portent également bien. Tokyo veut donner beaucoup d’argent pour rendre l’industrie spatiale plus importante et plus sûre.
