Josef Průša est un entrepreneur et ingénieur tchèque qui est devenu l’une des personnes les plus influentes d’Europe en matière d’impression 3D. Lorsqu’il était étudiant, il a expérimenté la technologie musicale et a construit sa première imprimante 3D pour fabriquer des pièces personnalisées.
Sa conception a rapidement suscité un intérêt mondial et, en 2012, il a fondé Prusa Research à Prague. L’entreprise emploie aujourd’hui plus de 1 000 personnes et vend des imprimantes 3D à des clients sur tous les continents, y compris à de grandes organisations telles que la NASA, Mercedes et le MIT.
L’approche open-source de Průša inspire d’innombrables petites entreprises à innover en utilisant localement des imprimantes moins chères. Il pense que l’impression 3D peut ramener la fabrication en Europe en aidant les entrepreneurs à concevoir, à produire et à être compétitifs de manière indépendante.
