Miss Mexique, Fatima Bosch, est la nouvelle Miss Univers. L’émission se déroule en Thaïlande.
La compétition connaît de nombreux problèmes cette année. Avant la finale, Miss Bosch quitte un petit événement. C’est parce qu’un fonctionnaire lui parle mal en public. Plus tard, deux juges quittent l’émission. L’un d’entre eux déclare que les personnes qui dirigent le concours trichent. Les responsables de Miss Univers affirment qu’ils ne font rien de mal. L’émission se poursuit et c’est Miss Bosch qui l’emporte. Cette année, c’est la première fois qu’une Miss Palestine participe à l’émission.
Bien qu’il y ait des problèmes, l’émission a une gagnante.
