Le saman est une danse populaire en Indonésie et l’Unesco l’a reconnu en 2011. Elle est également appelée la danse des mille mains.
Plus de 10 000 hommes d’Aceh, un territoire situé à Sumatra, ont exécuté cette danse. Ils ont battu le record national de la plus grande danse saman. Les Acehnais l’exécutent traditionnellement une fois par an pour montrer leur unité après la récolte.
Le directeur général de la culture a déclaré que cet événement montrait que les gens continuaient à défendre leur culture.
