Manifestations à Belfast après une agression au couteau – niveau 1

Depuis deux nuits, de violentes affrontements et manifestations secouent la ville de Belfast, en Irlande du Nord. Les troubles ont commencé après qu’un Soudanais a agressé un habitant de la ville avec un couteau. Ce dernier a été grièvement blessé et a perdu un œil.
La police a arrêté l’agresseur. Après l’attaque, beaucoup de gens se sont mis en colère. Des émeutes ont éclaté. Les gens jettent des pierres et des bouteilles sur la police. Des voitures et des maisons sont en feu. La police doit utiliser un canon à eau pour mettre fin aux affrontements. Les écoles, les magasins et les bus ferment plus tôt dans la journée. Les gens rentrent chez eux pour se mettre en sécurité. L’après-midi, le centre-ville est désert.
Les responsables politiques affirment que la violence doit cesser. La famille de l’homme blessé a également appelé au calme. Elle remercie les personnes qui ont sauvé la vie de cet homme. Mais elle estime qu’il est malvenu d’utiliser ce triste événement pour haïr les autres ou se battre.
