FRIDA est un robot qui peut peindre. Il ressemble à un bras robotisé avec un pinceau.
Un opérateur indique à FRIDA le concept qu’il doit peindre. Le robot fait alors un plan de ce qu’il doit peindre et prépare une palette. Lorsque le robot commence à peindre, une caméra suspendue vérifie son travail. Si FRIDA fait une erreur, il inclut la tache dans la peinture. C’est la même chose que ce que font les artistes.
Il est difficile de dire si FRIDA est un peintre ou non. Les peintres observent le monde qui les entoure et écoutent ce que les gens disent, puis ils distillent leurs idées dans un tableau. D’une certaine manière, c’est aussi ce que fait le robot.
