La crise du fentanyl aux États-Unis est grave. Plus de 100 000 décès ont été signalés l’année dernière, principalement dus à des opioïdes comme le fentanyl. Ils sont beaucoup plus puissants que l’héroïne.
Brian vient de San Francisco et il était dépendant du fentanyl. Il a été sans abri pendant trois ans. Il avait tellement besoin de drogues qu’il volait des choses pour avoir l’argent nécessaire. Il a vu beaucoup de gens mourir d’overdoses.
L’état de santé de Brian s’est dégradé et ses jambes se sont infectées. Il a eu la chance de survivre et a arrêté de se droguer il y a presque un an. Son histoire nous renseigne sur les problèmes des personnes dépendantes et sur la dangerosité des opioïdes.
