Un professeur d’université américain faisait de l’escalade au Népal lorsqu’il est tombé dans un trou. La fissure dans la glace faisait 22 mètres de profondeur, et l’homme s’y est retrouvé piégé.

L’homme a cru qu’il allait mourir. Son bras et cinq côtes étaient cassés, mais il n’a pas abandonné et il s’est déplacé pour sortir de la brèche. Cela lui a pris six heures. Il a atteint sa tente au bout de trois heures. Les secours sont arrivés le lendemain.
